Wasting Away...

When I refer to Amy Whinehouse as 'wasting away', I mean it in the sense of a good, promising life being wasted away, in the sense of amazing talent being wasted away and also in the sense of her physically being wasted away.

These new pictures of the award-winning singer were taken at the End of Summer Ball on Thursday night in London's Berkeley Square where the dress code was flattering gowns and the guest list was a host of VIPs.

You can see why she stuck out like a sore thumb. But can you see why people are just standing around, taking photos of a woman who needs serious help and treating her like some kind of an exhibition? I can't. Sick.

Amy Whinehouse Made Me Cry

I do not want to make fun of Amy Whinehouse or belittle her.

She is clearly in need of desperate help and she has been crying out for help for quite some time now. Yet, being the savage, celeb-gossip-obsessed society that we are; all the onlookers who witness Whino's breakdowns do is whip out their cameras and go FLASH! FLASH! FLASH!

It's pretty safe to say that these pictures terrified me. She is such a talented young woman and has a very promising career. She really should not go down the Kurt Cobain road for two reasons: 1) It's been done, duh and 2) It would be such a damn waste.

These pictures were taken as Whino stumbled out of a pub in Camden at 3.30AM.

Someone help her!
